TheSourcingSolutions was established, in 2005, by British and Chinese partners specifically to help European companies build long-term sourcing relationships with good quality Chinese suppliers.
The founding partners have over 45 years’ experience in product procurement and developing business between UK and Chinese companies. This is backed up by Lean Manufacturing philosophy and Six-Sigma methodology. The partners continue personally to handle all contracts and projects, and we deliberately choose to work only with a limited number of clients.
We apply a unique approach with a strong emphasis on supplier development, to ensure that each sourcing project is conducted in a logical sequence and that both supplier and purchaser can clearly see, from an early stage, the benefits of the expanding business relationship.
The SourcingSolutions has fully bilingual, qualified staffs in both the UK and China to guarantee that clients receive prompt and professional service at all times.

Changlei Sun is a qualified engineer and sourcing professional. He has 15 years practical experience with leading European companies, such as Siemens and Invensys in the engineering, automotive and medical industries. Changlei gained his MSc in Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Management at the University of Bradford, and is also a qualified Six Sigma Green Belt. Working for top UK and European companies, he has played a key role in creating sourcing strategy and developing their businesses in China since 2000, with a particular emphasis on supplier selection and development, process and quality improvement. Prior to that, Changlei used to work for a large state-owned enterprise (SOE) and Wholly Foreign Enterprise (WOFE) in China where he held various positions in charge of subcontracting until 1998. As a founding partner of TheSourcingSolutions Ltd, he has enabled clients to achieve substantial cost savings and quality improvements in their supply chain. He is a fluent English and Mandarin speaker. Now principally based in the UK, he makes regular business visits to China to support clients’ sourcing projects. |
Mark Norcliffe has over 30 years’ business experience, particularly in the transportation, automotive and engineering sectors. Since 1996, he has specialized in helping UK-based companies to develop successful business links with China. After graduating from the University of Oxford, Mark spent the early part of his career in international transportation and trading, handling commodities as diverse as super tanker engines and pedigree racehorses. For the last 15 years, he has focused on the automotive industry, and the emerging markets of the Asia-Pacific region. He has held senior positions as Head of International Services at SMMT and International Business Adviser to UK Trade & Investment, and has helped over 100 companies to explore new commercial opportunities with Chinese partners. He is a frequent visitor to China, and a regular writer and speaker on the market. |
